MP Anna Gelderd Visits Liskeard School to Hear Students’ Concerns

As part of the Year 7 Master Mission, students recently wrote a letter to their local MP about an issue they are passionate about. On Friday, Liskeard School and Community College welcomed in the MP for South East Cornwall, Anna Gelderd to take receipt of these letters and hear the student's views.

The students passionately explained their concerns around these issues and their ideas for solutions before handing their letter over to Ms Gelderd, who was extremely impressed with the research and effort students had put into their letters as well as the passion they had in presenting their views to her. As well as talking through their concerns, some of the students who sit on the school and year team council also had the opportunity to discuss with Ms Gelderd the role they play in presenting the views of the students and shaping the future direction of the school. Ms Gelderd was more than happy to share some top tips on how to do this.

A big thank you to Anna Gelderd for taking the time to visit our students and a huge congratulations to all the students involved. We all look forward to hearing about the responses that are received!
