Ethos & Values
Developing students’ attitudes and providing them with the knowledge and skills to lead happy, fulfilling lives is at the heart of what we do. As well as achieving academically, we want our students to be good citizens that aspire to make a positive contribution to the world. When they leave school, we want our students to be fully prepared for the next stage in life, high in confidence and ambition.
We believe that this is best achieved in co-operation with each other, hence our commitment to TeamLiskeard and our strapline ‘achieving more together’.
We are a community school in every sense. We want the school to be the natural first choice for the local community and to be a critical part of Liskeard and its surrounding villages.
Our Liskeard values align with the fundamental British values:
Everyone is equal and has a voice.
Everyone should be treated fairly and with respect.
Everyone takes responsibility for their actions.
We believe the attitudes of courage, resilience and kindness are of utmost importance. With these attitudes, anything is possible.
As a school we recognise the multi-cultural, multi-faith and ever-changing nature of the United Kingdom. We understand the vital role which we have in ensuring that groups or individuals within the College are happy and safe. No one will be subjected to intimidation or radicalisation by those wishing to unduly, or illegally, influence them.
