Tuesday focused on the history of the D-Day landings. Students visited the D-Day Museum in Arromanches before visiting the British Memorial and American Cemeteries, providing an opportunity to reflect on the events and sacrifices of the Second World War.

On Wednesday, students visited the famous Mont Saint-Michel, where they had time to explore this historic monument. The afternoon saw the group travel to the medieval city of Dinan, where they enjoyed a guided tour before having further time to explore the city independently.

Thursday offered a more relaxed day, beginning with a visit to a local biscuit factory near Belle-Isle-en-Terre. Students learnt about the history behind traditional Breton ‘galettes’ before spending the afternoon enjoying swimming and other activities at Armoripark.

The trip concluded on Friday with a visit to a French market before the group travelled to Roscoff to board the ferry back to Liskeard.

It was a fantastic opportunity for students to experience French history, culture and traditions, while creating lasting memories with their peers.
