Year 8 Students' celebration of International Women in Engineering Day!

Last Friday, 10 Year 8 girls joined forces with 200 other talented students from across Cornwall at Truro High School. Together, they immersed themselves in a day dedicated to highlighting the amazing opportunities for women in engineering. It couldn't have come at a more crucial time, as we work towards addressing the shortage of engineering skills.

The main goal of the day was to ignite curiosity amongst the next generation of girls, encouraging them to explore the vast array of careers that await them in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM).

Throughout the day, our students participated in an array of exciting workshops and activities, from constructing towering paper structures to trying their hand at the fine art of chocolate welding! Their enthusiasm was contagious, and they left feeling truly inspired after connecting with accomplished women currently working in the engineering industry, who shared their experiences and revealed the countless opportunities that lie ahead for these ambitious young minds.

We're immensely proud of our students' exemplary behaviour throughout the event, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Truro High School for hosting this fantastic day of empowerment and education. Together, let's continue to break barriers and create a brighter future for women in engineering!
