Life of Pi Trip
Dear Parents and Guardians
The English and Drama departments at Liskeard School is organising a trip to the Theatre Royal Plymouth to watch “Life of Pi” in its theatrical tour debut.
“The UK’s first ever tour of Life of Pi is a real treat, vividly bringing to life Yann Martel’s iconic novel through clever staging and animal puppet wizardry.”
Live theatre is a fantastic experience for all young people, and we are excited to offer this trip in recognition of World Book Day, as we watch a beautiful book transform into an exciting and wonderful stage production. This trip is open for students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13, and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The trip will be running on Thursday 7th March 2024, leaving the school by coach at 1.15 pm. The time of arrival back to Liskeard will be approximately 5.30pm. As the coach arrives back at school after normal time parents/guardians must ensure they are responsible for students’ journey home.
As the journey to the theatre will be during lunch time, the students will need to bring a packed lunch. A packed lunch will be provided for any student who is entitled to free school meals.
Please be aware that while we are there, the students will not be allowed to leave the theatre and must stay with the group at all times.
The trip will cost £30 each and this will cover the cost of the coach and the theatre tickets. If you would like your child to go on this trip, please fill in the attached consent form and register your interest on ParentPay. The consent form needs to be handed in directly to Ms. Ellison. After registering interest to hold your place, a £10 deposit will need to be paid by Friday 9th February, with the final £20 due by Thursday 29th February.
Please be aware that if your child is entitled to pupil premium money, funding is available for this trip. Please contact our Finance Department for more information.
Yours sincerely
Ms. Ellison
